Epicentre manufactures a Base Excision Sequence Scanning (BESS) kit
(www.epicentre.com/bess.htm), which according to the company can detect
Single Nucleotide Polymorphism, frameshift, deletion, insertion, and repeat
expansion with single nucleotide precision up to 1 kb. The method is
analogous to T sequence ladders, but in BESS, PCR products are used directly
to produce sequence patterns.
If anyone has experience with this kit, especially using Licor instruments,
we would like to hear about it, e.g accuracy and length of sequences in
