Primary technical responsibilities include design and preparation of gene
constructs and gene-targeting in embryonic stem cells. Position involves
assisting in creation and characterization of gene-targeted animals.
Secondary responsibilities include sharing in the support of general
laboratory operations. This position requires strong laboratory skills in
molecular biology (genomic - cDNA cloning, analysis of MRNA and protein
expression, transgenic and knock-out experience is required), cell culture
and experience in gene-targeting. Excellent communication and computer
skills (DNA sequence Analysis) are also a must. BS or MS in a relevant area
of biology and 3-5 years of relevant laboratory experience are required.
Position involves assisting in creation and phenotypic characterization of
transgenic and gene-targeted animals for development of therapeutic agents.
In addition to studies of bone biology, other projects may involve research
in diseases of the central nervous system; the immune system; and in the
areas of cancer, infectious diseases and Women's Health.
Applicant must have expertise in molecular cloning and gene analysis, and
should be familiar with a broad range of Genomics technologies including DNA
chip analysis. Excellent communication and computer skills are a must. BS or
MS in a molecular biology (or related field) and 3-5 years of relevant
laboratory experience are required. Extensive DNA cloning and molecular
biology are required as well as gene chip and functional genomics.
Transgenic or gene-targeted experiences are a plus.
