Sooner than expected it was necessary to release a new version of MacPattern
to fix a bug which seems to appear only under System 7. Loading sequences
with more than 32000 residues could cause MacPattern to bomb out under some
circumstances.

This bug has been fixed in v1.4, which also removes a new "feature"
introduced in v1.3 which resulted in output files of more than 1MB when a
complete sequence database was searched :-(

Additionally, System 7 support was improved. AppleEvents are now supported as
well as file aliases.

As usual, MacPattern is available from NetServ at EMBL-Heidelberg.DE and soon
from the other server sites.

[BTW, MacPattern is a Macintosh program for searching sequences for motifs
and patterns, making full use of the Prosite database]
