looking for fasta

Greetings

Does anyone know if the fasta code is available on an FTP server?  I
would like to host it on an IRIS and couldn't find the source on 
archie.  If it is not available, does anyone know how to reach Bill
Pearson by email?  If you want to write to me directly, I'll summarize
for the list.
