Jason,
	Give the Staden, et al TED and XBAP programs a try.
	Here's a copy of something I posted a while ago.
	By the way, this package runs only on Suns and other UNIX boxes.
	If you are wed to the Mac you could be stuck with the ABI programs
but may look into DNAStar as I though they were trying to get something
to read the ALF and ABI output going.

The Staden software which has been re-worked for X-windows is an outstanding
package, especially for people using automated sequencers.  The best part for
academic users is the price (about $200, not including the cost of hardware).
