Future development of GDE

I hope you will stick with XView and not divert efforts into Motif
support.  As I understand it, a GDE user would not be able to compile
a Motif-based GDE without having Motif binary libraries and header
files.  This might require the purchase of some sort of Motif
developer's kit.  Motif source code is not available without a special
license from OSF.  On the other hand an XView implementation is freely
available from MIT, just as X itself is.
