Gopher Broke

My thanks to the several helpful responders to my post
about ftp'ing IBM PC software, especially Dick. The
problem ultimately had to do with my failure to use
BINARY transfers both at my local FTP site and at
the distant FTP site. So now I have a functioning
uudecoder and a functional unzipper as well.
The latest problem is the program gophbook.zip I
downloaded from boombox.micro.umn.edu. This is a
windows Gopher program. I unzipped it using a
very recent version of pkzip, and it appeared
to explode OK. However, when I try to run the program,
Windows had lots of problems, such as inability
to find the file GOPHBOOK.TXT (it was not present
in any directory despite its listing among the
files created by unzipping gophbook.zip), and
inability to access nirsdk.dll and WINSOCK.DLL.
It really looks like a good program but is unusable
right now. I would rather not go to a DOS version
if it could be avoided. Does anyone know of this
bug and how to fix it? Any and all replies appreciated,
post or email.
Brian
