Dear Netters:

Good to see the ABI people start to appear on the network - not
a day to early. I hope we are going to see more of you guys - we
your customer need your advice and support.

Sure we can not expect software to be for free. If it should be sold
as separate products or if should be bundled with the equipment
that is a matter of market policy for the company. But we the
costumer should deserve a better support than the one ABI is
giving us at present. Most of the ABI programs - not only for the
DNA-sequencer - are quite crude and often containing anouing bugs
that it takes for ever for ABI to fix. And when they are finally fixed
it takes for ever for us the enduser to get them. The excuse I have gotten
from ABI is that it takes long time to physically produce the floppies.
Not a very good excuse and if it is true why not distribute
them electronically - I guess almost all ot the ABI customers have
access to the networks. BTW I think it would be a good Idea for ABI to
put up a mailinglist or for product and software development announce-
ments.

I hope you ABI guys get more involved on the networks an see all the
advantages of using it. With these means we the custumoer could
send you our bugrepports etc directly instead of having them filtered
throu your marketing or techsupport which many times might distort
the messages.

yours

BOSSE
