Macs versus other computers in biosciences.. (forwarded)

I don't know about genuine Mac/PC hybrids but I work in a lab
that only has Macs, yet my collection of molecular biology-oriented
software is all PC-based and there is little inertia among my
colleagues to search out equivalent software for MacIntosh.

My solution was to go out and buy SoftAT for the Mac. It's
slow and only emmulates an 80286 with an EGA card but it runs
everything (albeit with dinky little characters on the Mac's
monochrome screen-ie. the DOSware looks like Macware :-).
