Keith's posting of a general HTML page inspired me to post this page,
which I've had for a while but not made public. This page points
to various UH Gene-Server services, plus two excellent biogophers in
the U.S. To use this page, save this e-mail message to a file, then
edit everything before and including the dashed line. Then load it
into your favorite WWW reader (" Open Local..." in Mosaic).

There's more to come.

<H1> Molecular Biology Software and Data Archives</H1>

This is the UH Gene-Server Archive as seen thru the World Wide Web.
<P>

The UH Gene-Server files are available usually via e-mail
(gene-server at bchs.uh.edu) and anonymous FTP to ftp.bchs.uh.edu, or by
clicking on the FTP menu item below. <P>

This PIR Gopher comes about by permission and/or the assistance of the
National Biomedical Research Foundation, Bill Pearson, and most
especially Don Gilbert of IUBio who explained a lot of this and
provided some essential code. <P>

The Gene-Server Web and Gopher Servers also allows FTP access to the
UH Gene-Server Software and data archive, on the "FTP Software" menu.
See the "Other Biology Gophers" for other links to FTP software.
<P>

This is a very first pass at a WWW server for molecular biology
information. Watch here for things to come! <P>
