software for calc. signif. digits?

Anyone know of any PD software for calculating significant digits for a mean 
and standard deviation?  

I've got a manuscript with about 400 data points, and the journal requires 
that the means be rounded based on the size of the standard deviation, and 
that only 2 signif. digits of the standard deviation be reported.  This seems 
a reasonable request, but will take LOTS of time to hand calculate and 
recheck.  TIA for all replies!
