Reading ABI Genescan file formats

I would like to be able to read ABI Genescan file formats.  I have example
code for reading ABI chromatogram file formats, but have not been able to 
determine how to read Genescan files or how they differ from chromatogram
files.  If anyone has definitive information on these formats and how to
