This is to announce that the beta-test OSF/1 version of the MDPP (Micrograph
Data Processing Program) is now available for anonymous/FTP from
"mcclb0.med.nyu.edu".

MDPP is a fully-featured general purpose image processing package originally
written to support research in structural biology requiring electron
microscopy and image processing. It has focused on the analysis of images
using Fourier techniques, particularly periodic images, but has extensive
tools for other processing options as well. Three-dimensional reconstruction
from projections is provided. Color images are supported with both color
pallet and RGB options.

The 'new' component of MDPP is OSF/1 support for DEC's Alpha-chip computers,
but FTPable images are in this location for Ultrix/RISC and OpenVMS (VAX and
Alpha).
