general data capturing software(s)?

Hi

I am planning to use a spectrophotometer to do some kind of enzyme kinetic
works.  A lot of data points will be generated in the processes.  I really
don't wanna key in each single data point to a computer to estimate my
reaction rate.  So I wonder if there is any software that can perform a
simple task of data capturing output from the spec?  The interface used by
the spec is IEEE-488, and it uses RS 232C serial communication.
