I have been trying to figure out how to manage the .gel files (files made by Molecular Dynamics Phosphorimager of DNA sequences, etc.) on my hard drive. These files take up an inordinate amount of space and are not readily compacted by zip (they are already very compact). Any suggestions as to software that may compress these files?
