Analysis of 1D gels

Is there a Macintosh program that can analyze 1D gels.  We wish to analyze
the contribution of multiple overlapping bands found in these lanes. 
Ideally, this program should be able to separate the profile of bands into
separate gaussian (or whatever appropriate) functions so that we may
integrate the area under each curve individually.

Thus far, we have tried graphical methods using NIH image and have found
the analysis difficult for closely-spaced bands.  Any advice would be
appreciated.
