Bioscan on disk info wanted

Has anyone had any experience with Bioscan on disc? This is a huge 
directory of biotechnology companies either in hard copy (10 kg worth) or 
on disc. I am considering getting the disc-based copy. Can the program 
transfer information in a DBF compatible format? I have contacted the 
company but they are a little fuzzy on that subject. The program costs 
almost a $1000 US and I can't take the chance for that amount of money.
