NCBI maintains a taxononmy, which is accessable via Entrez.
Entrez is available on the Web at:
	http://atlas.nlm.nih.gov:5700/Entrez/index.html
and the Taxonomy option from there is:
	http://atlas.nlm.nih.gov:5700/htbin/ef/entrezTAX
