The latest version of fasta3.0 is available from:

	ftp://ftp.virginia.edu/pub/fasta/fasta30t6.shar.Z

This version includes the new program TFASTX, a replacement for TFASTA
that calculates similarity scores with frameshifts. TFASTX is
especially useful for comparing protein sequences against EST
databases.

The program is much more GCG friendly - it can now read GCG format
query sequences (the GCG file must contain a single sequence) and the
library sequence information for GCG-format libraries is more
informative. GCG users should be able to use fasta3, tfastx3, fastx3,
etc. transparently.

This version correctly threads on multiprocessors Solaris2.5.1 (a
change between Solaris2.4 and 2.5.1 apparently caused the program not
use more than 50% of the processors - this has been fixed).
