Pedigree database software

Hi there.
I am a graduate student studying breast cancer using mice models.
As such, I have to keep track of large numbers of mice, their phenotypes, 
intercrosses etc. I was wondering if anyone could recommend to me some 
sort of multifunctional database program (Mac preferred, but PC OK too)  
which would allow me to keep track of pertinent mouse data and pedigrees.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
