Have you used the WWW site at EMBL (www.ebi.ac.uk). They offer a
myriad of programs--- Mac,DOS,Windows, Unix based, in all different
attacks of DNA and protein analysis. I am using BBSEQ for sequence
conversion, MACAW for sequence similarity for primer design, Clustal
and Phylip for sequence alignment and for cladistic analysis. --- Oh
yes, these are all free to nonprofit organizations.
