You need to use a database of motifs to run your sequence against. The
usual one is PROSITE, and there is a previous posting this week by
Bernard Bellon on that topic and on-line access to the service
(http://www.ebi.ac.uk/searches/prosite_input.html). If you want to run
the motif searches on your own machine then you would need MacPattern or
Prosearch for the Mac and PC respectively, which are available from the
EMBL software archives at ftp://ftp.ebi.ac.uk/pub/software/dos/ for PC
and ftp://ftp.ebi.ac.uk/pub/software/mac/ fot the MAC.
