Ooops, a couple omissions in that last post (concerning effects of
email on sequence file formats).

 >sp|0009

should be
 >sp|0009
 AAAA

and

should be
> In this case the author ***of the software which merges sequence
> entries*** decided to make ...

to distinguish from the author of the post to which I was replying.
