For Windows users...

I've got around this problem in the past by importing the actual tree
data file (e.g. tree.ph or whatever) into Rod Page's excellent TreeView
program available from:

http://taxonomy.zoology.gla.ac.uk/rod/treeview.html

This program doesnt allow you to edit the tree, but you can export a
Windows metafile (*.wmf) of your tree.

The metafile can then be read by Metafile Companion...

http://ftp1.rad.kumc.edu/win95/graphics.htm

(file mc110.zip from the list).

Metafile Companion is a fairly powerful editor which should be suitable
for most uses (I've used it to generate very large publication quality trees).

Good luck
