Caesar Software announces new oligonucleotide design software.
August 30, 2000
(Portsmouth, NH) Caesar Software, LLC today announced the release of
1.0, its new software product to help scientists involved in molecular
biology and genetic research. "iOligo is a state-of-the-art primer
and purchasing program. It quickly retrieves DNA or protein sequences
the web from the National Center for Biotechnology's (NCBI) databases.
iOligo designs the best oligos for PCR or sequencing reactions, and
them directly from your favorite synthesis company" according to Dr.
S. Negm, President of Caesar Software LLC. "iOligo is another clear
of Caesar Software's ability to combine powerful computing technology
biotechnology tools needed by scientists engaged in the life science
iOligo is a comprehensive program for design, analysis, and purchase of
oligonucleotides, specifically those oligonucleotides for PCR and
sequencing. iOligo accepts DNA, RNA, or back-translated proteins as
sequences. You can retrieve sequences directly from NCBI, using not only
accession numbers related to a submitted sequence, but also the author's
name, keywords, and locus identifiers, so you can easily design
oligonucleotides(oligos) for any sequence in the published database.
You may view thermodynamic properties of your DNA and accurately predict
annealing reactions for all possible oligonucleotides based on the most
current nearest-neighbor parameters data which have shown to provide the
most accurate Tm predictions. Tm calculations using iOligo are based
the user's specified criteria for delta G temperature, salt
Available now, iOligo 1.0 runs on computers using the Macintosh and
operating systems, and is priced at $499 ($99 for academic users).
Headquartered in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Caesar Software LLC was
in 1997 dedicated to developing software that helps scientists help
