Helix calculation

Does anyone know of a method for calculating and visualizing the path in 
space of the backbone of a double helix?

It's actually for a non-biological application, but you guys and gals 
are smart enough to know.  I'm wondering if the Mac's Graphing 
Calculator could do it?
