treealign on linux

Dear all,

I wonder if someone has compiled Jotun Hein's TreeAlign on Linux? I'm not 
too familiar with C and can't understand what goes wrong. Either it 
complains about segmentation fault, or eats all the memory and crashes. 

If you have succeeded to compile it, please, could you send me the 
source/makefile, or explain what to do. Thanks in advance!

P.S. I'm running a standard SuSE 7.1 on P3 with 256MB.
