CVS and sequencing

Hi,

Has anyone used CVS as a way to manage sequencing projects?  We have
several lab techs that do finshing (autofinish, phred/phrap, etc) on
sequence chromatigrams.  Each tech is responsible for each separate
"project", but there is some overlap, especially when finsihed
projects are submitted to NIH.  Right now, all techs use the same
userid on a solaris system.  It works, but I'm wondering if CVS would
allow me to better manage the projects.
