Genome Bioinformatics - Senior Research Associate
Applications are sought for an individual to help develop, coordinate
and manage a center for bioinformatics and computational genomics.
The successful individual will work with faculty and staff, both at
Cornell and other institutions around the world, who are generating
genomic data from plant species . This includes data from
sequencing, transcript profiling, proteomics and genetic mapping.
The individual will have responsibilities in helping set overall
project goals and will work closely with both computer
scientists/bioinformaticians and biologists in implementing those
goals. Individual will also have supervisory responsibilities for
undergraduate computer science and computational biology students who
may be working on various aspects of the project. The successful
individual will have opportunities for creative computational and
biological research and will be expected to participate in the
writing of grant proposals in the area of research. Ph.D in genetics,
biochemistry, molecular biology, plant biology, or related
discipline with experience/training in bioinformatics related to
sequenced-based research projects.
