We are seeking to find members of a research lab that would be
interested in participating in the development of the Mobile Life
Sciences Platform (MLSP), an application platform for Smart Phone
devices that will enable complex life sciences information to be
accessed in the lab or in the field. This is a unique opportunity to
influence the design and feature set of the next-generation software for
mobile bioinformatics data access.

Researchers in the lab would participate by being part of a focus group
during the twelve month project. Focus group members will be supplied
with a GSM-based Windows Mobile Smart Phone for the duration of the
tests and will receive the latest software updates, report on bugs and
provide opinions on the application design and function.

Ideally we are looking to engage members of a single research lab, but
are open to hearing from individual researchers within the community.

The first MLSP application will provide access to protein structures and
other data currently available from the Protein Data Bank and the RCSB
web site, together with the ability to store data on the Smart Phone
device.

For further information, send an email to Greg Quinn, quinn At sdsc.edu,
indicating your research lab's focus and how many researchers would be
interested in participating.
