mutation

I have recently seen a news story that suggests a genetic mutation in
females may be responsible in causing them to be more susceptible (than
males) to lung cancer if they are currently smoking cigarettes; even if
they have smoked and quit the past.  There is a connection with this to
the presence of estrogen in the female body.  Is anyone familiar with
this, or know of any further information/studies available on this
subject that I can access?
