Chromosome mapping

I was a cytogeneticist, but am now pursuing a PhD in medical
biochemistry, and have a problem. I would like to map the human gene
encoding the enzyme GPI-PLD,which cleaves the GPI anchor from cell
associated proteins. My problem is that the gene encoding this protein
is only in the region of 3-3.5kb, and is much too small to use FISH. Is
it possible to use PRINS instead, or is it still too small. In which
case, what techniques can I use to map it.
Thanks
