S for lit. on bac. movement inside biofilms

Dear biofilmers,

I'm searching for literature on the movement of bacteria inside colonies
or biofilms. I seem to have heard by word of mouth that such reports exist
but a search through the ISI database was not very successful. I'd also
like to know about reports on growth rates of _individual_ cells in a
biofilm or colony. 

Does anyone have pointers?
