I have had the oppurtunity to read (r at least some sections) of "Biofilms:
Methods for
Enzymatic Release of Microorganisms", by Jean Brisou, CRC Press, 1995,
ISBN 0849347912. The book's contents is broken up as follows:
Part 1 - Adherence in Microbiology
Chapter 1 - Structures and Mechanisms (p 9-48)
Chapter 2 - Chemical Elements of Adherence (p 49-82)
Part 2 - Bacteria Life in the Wild
Chapter 1 - Adherence in Living Tissues (p 83-90)
Chapter 2 - Adherence to a Few Organs and Organsims (p 91-104)
Chapter 3 - Natural Microbiocenoses (p 105-140)
Part 3 - Enzymatic Release Techniques of Bacteria
Chapter 1 - Basic Techniques (p 141-152)
Chapter 2 - Practical Applications (p 153-166)
As you may have noticed the majority of the book goes into the background
details of biofilms before focusing on the what the book's title
indicates. The last section (Part 3) gives a brief overview of a handful
of enzymes and than briefly describes a few experiments and their
results. The majority of information contained in this book may be found
in current literature. The information in this book is useful as an
overview of biofilms but does not adequately address it's title (enzymatic
release of microorganisms).
Good Luck,
