Rachaneeporn:

I believe the "gold standard" for EPS detection and quantitiation are the
phenol-sulfuric and the anthron assays. Both use spectrophotometric
detection based on a colorimetric change. Both methods were initially
developed by chemists which wanted to quanitate different sugars. However,
the standard you use to generate a curve may vary depending on the the
specific polysaccharide you want to detect and/or the particular
organism(s) in the biofilm.

Here are some great references:

Hello ,
Thank you for your kindness. I have some question about " What is the gold
standard or reference method to detect or characterize biofilm
exopolysaccharide ? , and we can use lectin to detect or characterize
biofilm exopolysaccharide ?
Thanks for help
