Building a confocal microscope

Here at the university of Oslo we have little money, so we
want to build a confocal microscope from the parts ourselves,
instead of buying it.
Does anyone have experiences or advices about such a project?
We believe the CSLM type will be best for our purposes.
Does anyone have, or can point us to, construction plans for the
scanning unit?  Your help would be greatly appreciated.
