Digitiser connection to Macs

We have a digitizer that is used for sequence reading connected to
a Vax.  Commercial software seems very expensive to connect these to
Macs as they usually bundle a sequence library as well.  We would
like to be able to connect our digitizer to a Mac.  Does any one
know of a cheap or PD program that can do this. 

It is a GP7 Grafbar Mark II Digitizer from Science Accessories Corp
