Chlamydomonas Genetics Center stock list

The Chlamydomonas Genetics Center is an NSF-sponsored project 
that serves as a central repository to receive, catalogue, 
preserve and distribute stocks of nuclear and chloroplast 
mutants of the green alga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii and other 
Chlamydomonas species in which extensive genetic analysis has 
been done.  The Center also maintains and distributes genomic 
and cDNA clones of Chlamydomonas nuclear, chloroplast and 
mitochondrial genes.             

The Chlamydomonas Genetics Center maintains an extensive 
bibliography of references pertinent to Chlamydomonas 
research, from which specific individual references or 
topical lists can be excerpted on request.  Recent additions 
to the Chlamydomonas literature are listed in the 
Chlamydomonas Newsletter, distributed by Dr. Mike Adams, 
Biology Department, Eastern Connecticut State University, 
Willimantic,CT  06226

Computer files are maintained of nuclear, chloroplast and 
mitochondrial DNA sequences of C. reinhardtii collected from 
publications and from the EMBL and GENBANK databases.  At 
present these are not listed on the Indiana file server, 
but can be obtained by E-mail and on disk for IBM (MS-DOS) or 
Macintosh.  We can provide text files, or can translate the 
sequence data into most common word-processing formats.

Nuclear, chloroplast and mitochondrial genetic and physical 
maps of C. reinhardtii are published at two-year intervals in 
the series Genetic Maps, edited by Stephen OUBrien and 
published by Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory.  Copies of the 
current map, including any recent additions that have been 
communicated to us, are available on request.

The file CHLAMY.TXT on the IU file server contains the 
current catalogue of algal cultures in the collection.
