Systems appear to be working normally finally, i.e., the transatlantic
distribution for bionet.general/BIOFORUM is now taking place via news.
We will continue to monitor this newsgroup closely though.

The BIOFORUM mailing list was shut down at GenBank from mid-day Monday
through early Tuesday AM and also at Daresbury.  If you sent in any
messages **by mail** during this period, odds are high that they were
redirected to the "bit bucket," i.e., they were not distributed.
Messages posted directly into USENET news would not have been
affected.
