Anyone doing protein sequence comparisons should check out the latest
issue of Science and the article on the newly computed PAM250 matrix. They
used Needleman and Wunsch to compared all protein sequences in the MIPS
database. A new PAM250 matrix is one of the results. They also have some
interested things to say about gap scores in protein sequence alignments.
