Bionet and other Readers:

A few days ago Kay Klier of the University of Northern Iowa posted a
message to BIONET.GENERAL to the effect that Iowa State University had the
AGRICOLA database for free and unrestricted access. This is not true.

The AGRICOLA database was mounted at Iowa State for its students and
faculty and for use by the participants in the Midwest Agricultural
Biotechnology Information Center (biotech researchers at Ohio State, Purdue,
U Illinois, U Wisconsin, U Minnesota, U Missouri). Access by others is not
in accord with the licensing agreement between Iowa State and the National
Agricultural Library.

In a few days the database will be protected from unauthorized access
through formal security measures. In the meantime please refrain from using
it if you do not fall into the above categories and please notify your
colleagues of the same.

  Thank you.
