I would like the advice of scientists on the net regarding
some writing I am doing about the merits of basic research
support at NIH. While most of us understand that products,
medical applications, etc. have their roots firmly embedded
in basic research, it is good to document this now and then.
Turns out now is a good time.
I am looking for good examples of biotechnologies and medical
applications (therapies, mapped genes,...) that are RECENT and
IMPORTANT and can be traced to basic research. Your favorite
example would be gratefully appreciated!!
