funny biological names - got any?

Ah well... how about the subspecies of desert trumpet, a wild buckwheat,
rejoicing in the name Eriogonum inflatum subsp. deflatum? (This is a
variant of the originally discovered plant with inflated internodes.)

Or Tacitus bellus, named because the genus had a flower with a slightly
closed mouth.

Or pairs of genera like Motherwellia and Fothergilla...

And of course my students find certain crude humor in such names as
Ilex vomitoria, Backhousia, Grossularia....
