                    MODERN FISHERIES SCIENCE
                    ========================

LAUNCHING A DISCUSSION FORUM FOR THE BENEFIT OF FISHERIES SCIENCE
AND THE PROFESSIONALS WORKING IN THIS INTERESTING FIELD. THE DISCUSSION
WILL BE IN THE LIGHT OF ELUCIDATING MECHANISMS OF NEUROENDOCRINE REGULATION
OF REPRODUCTION, GROWTH, NUTRITION AND DISSEASE RESISTANCE AT THE MOLECULAR
LEVEL.

FISH IS A DIVERSE GROUP AND ORIGINATOR OF ALL THE VERTEBRATE SERIES THUS ONE
CAN NOT GENERALIZE THE MECHANISMS OR OBSERVATIONS MADE IN RELATIVELY WELL
UNDERSTOOD VERTEBRATE MODELS. WE ALL KNOW THAT ITS ANATOMY IS DIFFERENT,
ITS HABTAT IS DIFFERENT, ITS BLOOD VASCULAR SYSTEM IS DIFFERENT, ITS
RESPIRATORY SYSTEM IS DIFFERENT AND SO ON THEREFORE ONE CANNOT JUST TAKE
IT GRANTED THAT SINCE THIS HAPPENS IN THE MAMMALIAN SYSTEM THEREFORE
THIS MUST BE HAPPENING IN THE FISH BECAUSE THIS IS ALSO A VERTEBRATE .
JUST FOR EXAMPLE THE RBC ARE NUCLEATED IN THE FISH WHICH WE SAY THAT IN
MAMMALIAN SYSTEM RBC DON'T PLAY ROLE IN BODY DEFENCE BUT I WONDER WHETHER
THIS IS TRUE IN THE FISH SYSTEM AS WELL. MOST OF THE TIME I REFUSE TO ACCEPT
THIS, WHO KNOWS, SINCE IT IS NUCLEATED IT MIGHT BE VITAL FOR THE IMMUNE
DEFENCE IN THE FISH. DOES ANYBODY KNOW ? NO GUESS WORK PLEASE. DEAR READER
IF ANYONE OF YOU HAVE WORKED ON THIS ASPECT OR WORKING ON THIS ASPECT, LET'S
DISCUSS. LET US DISCUSS HOW THE KEY MOLECULES HAVE TAKEN VARIOUS ROUTES
DURING THE EVOLUTION FROM FISH TO THE PRESENT FORM. HOW A FISH SENSE THE
SOUND OF RAIN OR THE SMELL OF SOIL AND VARIOUS CUES FROM THE CONSORTIUM OF
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS TO BRING ABOUT MOLECULAR CHANGES IN THEIR BRAIN
AND IN TURN CHANNALIZING IT TO SECRETE EFFECTOR MELECULES. WHY ONE FISH
BREEDS WITH INCREASING TEMPERATURE AND INCREASING PHOTOPERIOD AND WHY
THE OTHER ONE BREEDS WITH DECREASING TEMPERATURE AND DECREASING PHOTOPERIOD.
DURING EVOLUTION FISH WERE THE MOST DYNAMIC PHASE OF ORGANISMAL EVOLUTION.
DO WE HAVE SOME KNOWLEDGE OF THEIR COMMUNICATION SYSTEM ?

JOIN AND LET US MAKE THIS NETWORK AN INTERESTING DISCUSSION FORUM WHILE
HELPING EACH OTHER TO IMPROVE FISHERIES SCIENCE WITH PARTICULAR EMPHASIS
ON MOLECULAR BIOLOGY, NEUROLOGY AND IMMUNOLOGY.
