Research on plantation forests

I am looking for comments, bibliographies, experts, datasets, or case
histories on tree plantations on degraded land in developing countries.
I am particularly interested in the social and environmental impacts of
exotics e.g. acacia or eucalypts. I am operating under the assumption
that both damages and benefits have been experienced, and that the
effects are usually site-specific.
The paper I'm preparing is only about tree plantations on degraded land,
where native forests have not existed for sometime, although facts about
intentional replacement of native forests with plantations would be
useful.
