Does Arginine leads to insulitis?

Dear reader,
 
a friend has a biochemical problem. Maybe someone can help:
 
The question is:
Does arginine and citrulline application in hyperammoniemia 
with a chronically high plasma level of the substances lead to 
a NO (nitrit-oxide) -induced insulitis of the pancreatic 
beta-cells ?
