Well, well, well... Perhaps there is something peculiar about muscarinic
receptors.  My favourite mAChR has a small region in its third cytoplasmic
loop which is very homologous to beta-galactosidase!!! You can probably
imagine what sort of problems that has caused... As to the general question
of whether these homologies mean anything your guess is as good as mine.
