Dale webb is correct when he writes that buying an electron microscope is
the smallest cost for a high school. I know that one prominent high school
in Christchurch NZ DID buy a surplus TEM probably for next to nothing. To
the best of my knowledge however this was never commisioned probably because
of ignorance in operation and the costs and time required to run and
maintain it.
