Recommendations for Disinfesting Insect Eggs

Hi,  A colleague of mine would like to know if there are any good 
references/techniques available for decontaminating insect eggs.  He is 
working on a bioassay to test the efficiacy of transgenic calli 
expressing insecticidal genes; however, the insect eggs are normally 
contaminated with fungi and to a lesser degree with bacteria and he is 
not certain how to cleanup the eggs without severely reducing their 
viability.  Thanks.
