DIRECTOR OF TECHNOLOGY:

Our client is an Atlantic Canada manufacturer of high quality, value added 
seaweed products for the food, beverage, pharmaceutical and agricultural 
industries, serving domestic and international markets.  To serve their 
expanding client base, they are now seeking a Director of Technology.

Reporting to the President, the successful candidate will establish a new 
Technology department and be responsible for consolidating, directing and 
managing all technical resources in the company.  As a key member of the 
senior management team, the Director will have excellent interpersonal and 
leadership skills and use sound business principles and professional knowledge 
of plant science and technology, to address a complex array of issues and 
opportunities facing the company.  The Director's diverse experience will 
provide both a practical base to solve immediate issues and a visionary base 
to innovate and develop new product lines and manufacturing processes.

Qualifications for this position include:

1)  Ph.D in plant biochemistry, agricultural chemistry or chemical engineering 
with 5 years relevant industry experience in a management capacity.

2)  A business orientation with a proven track record as a dynamic and 
practical manager of technical resources in the seaweed industry.

3)  An innovative and creative problem solver and developer of new products, 
processes and applications for profitable growth.
